It is always good to start with the basics, that is dressage. But first: take a good seat! Because your seat is about more than just looking pretty, says Erica Poseley, dressage rider and trainer.

After studying philosophy at UCLA, Erica went on a life long quest to further her own education to become the best rider and coach she could be. This led her to study in Germany at the Neindorff Reitinstitut under the tutelage of Melissa Simms. She also traveled some years later to the U.K. to study with Mary Wanless who has been her mentor in the understanding of rider biomechanics. Erica feels that we as riders have a responsibility to be the best partners we can be for our horses. Then the horse can rise to his true potential!
